I am 5'11" and 185 lbs., and I ordered 7 of these in March of 2020, with hopes they would be better than the high priced Sp__x brand compression shirts that I had previously been wearing. To begin with, I'll say that I just ordered seven more!! The original seven are holding up great...but I needed more due to the fact that I am traveling more and there are times when I don't have access to a washer for extended periods.
I had worn the other brand for 7-8 years, not realizing that there were other manufacturers making similar products. I sweat a lot, and the other brand was primarily made of cotton, was thicker, and the cotton acted as a sponge in regards to sweat. Not to get into the technical qualities of the fibers, but cotton is a hollow fiber with terrible wicking qualities and dries slowly, which didn't fare well with me. Once I began to sweat in the other brand, the shirt remained wet until I could change my undershirt...not to mention that the sweat would periodically show through on my regular shirt. Not that you would take a wet shirt out of your washer and put it on, but that's how the other brand would feel for the entire day, once I began to sweat. Again, the cotton fiber would remain wet all day. Also, the other brand would often cling to my external garment, which prevented it from correctly hanging on my body. It may not sound like this is a big deal, but it caused my golf shirts to look like they were wrinkled where they would grab the undershirt and bunch together. There were very few shirts that I could wear over the Sp__x brand where this wasn't an issue.
Well, enough of what I didn't like about the other brand....ENTER Underworks Microfiber Compression Tank. I was skeptical to begin with, thinking the Underworks tank would not have adequate compression, but that skepticism was soon put to rest. This shirt is amazing!! The compression is as good or better, AND it solves both of my major gripes with the Sp__x brand. The Underworks tank is primarily nylon, with spandex added for elasticity. The nylon wicks moisture away from the body, and it also dries fast. I don't have to worry about being wet all day from an undershirt that just won't dry. It also clings to NOTHING! The nylon is silky smooth and I can wear whatever I want over this tank, without the issue of looking like my outer shirt has a bad case of static cling.
Finally, I will say that Underworks didn't compensate me to write this, nor did I receive a discount or free product to write this review. I don't write reviews often unless I feel strongly about a product, good or bad, but this tank is a "lifestyle changer" for me. My tanks arrived in Alabama via UPS within just a few days of when they were ordered. Keep up the great work, Underworks!
If you should give this compression tank a try, I certainly don't think you will be disappointed!!!
